"We have been staying at Idle Wild since the early 1990s. It
is the most beautiful, little homey set of cabins anyone could hope to find. The
cabins are knotty pine, and just so rustic and beautiful. Surrounded by the pines,
you are always out of the sun. Just a short distance to the National Park and the
grocery store. It is a great place for couples as well as families. We have stayed
their both as newlyweds, and as a family. Our children love it. It is a great way
to get away from the city, enjoy the mountains, have the comforts of home, but not that
icky hotel feel. The Claypools make the stay wonderful, and the cabins are clean! Thanks!"

"When the world has worn me down and I need to feed my soul,
Idlewilde by the River is the place I go to relax and get in touch with nature.
Donna and Lloyd are wonderful hosts, always making sure that your needs are met and
that you are comfortable and safe. I return to Idlewilde by the River as often as I
can, at least once every two years. I have stayed in three of the single cabins and
have enjoyed them all. My last stay I was graced with the sight of a doe and her two
fawns drinking from the river right in front of my cabin. What a wonderful experience
to be so honored. On previous stays, the Elk have come right past my parked vehicle to
drink from the river. Humming birds abound and provide entertainment for me as I sit on
the swing on the screened in porch of my cabin. Idlewilde by the River is my sanctuary,
my retreat from the fast paced world. In July I celebrated my 50th birthday and graduation
with an Associate of Arts degree at Idlewilde by the River. I can not wait until next
summer or hopefully sooner to return to my favorite place. Thank you Donna and Lloyd for

"We stayed at the Linger Longer and the cabin was perfect for our
family of five. We absolutely fell in love with Idlewilde. Our hosts were there for
questions. Our cabin had a lovely swing on the back porch to sit and listen to the river
in the mornings. We also enjoyed being so close to the shopping in Estes Park and the
hiking at Rocky Mountain National Park. It is a great place if you want a getaway, but it
is also a nice place to come back to when you've been out being a tourist all day too! We
will remember our trip and hope we can return again soon. "

many more. It is hard to say which is better--the gorgeous scenery of the Big Thompson River or
the extraordinary hospitality of Donna and Lloyd. We have stayed in several cabins and loved them
all. While we love to go out into the Park to hike it is also quite relaxing to sit by the river
and read a book. Needless to say we would recommend Idlewilde to anyone who loves the sound of
rushing water, the Colorado air, and beautiful scenery. Donna and Lloyd go out of their way to make
us feel welcome and are truly the "iicing on the cake" of a great Colorado vacation!"

vacation. You can't get closer to the river without a boat and the hummingbirds are so entertaining!
Your site is close to the Rocky Mountain National Park (the best hiking anywhere!) and Estes Park. What
a perfect blend of wilderness, country and city. Truly enjoyed the cabin, perfect for our needs and all
