"This was my second stay at Idlewilde and it was absolute
perfection, as before. Donna is unbelievably wonderful and the whole staff goes out
of their way to make sure your stay is a comfortable one. Donna also assisted me with
dinner reservations, suggestions for activities, and even advice on how I could work
in Estes Park next summer. The location is perfect. Idlewilde is near the Beaver
Meadow entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. This is the closest entrance for
access to the trails at Bear Lake and Glacier Gorge. The Big Thompson River provides
a soothing background and the screened-in porches enable you to sit and enjoy the
sounds of the river, hummingbirds, and the cool fresh mountain air. Idlewilde will
always be my choice in Estes Park. I can not imagine anywhere being better than
Idlewilde. If I could live there, I would."

"What a treasure of a resort. We have found a gold mine at
Idlewilde, and hope there is an available cabin for us in 2010. Our cabin was even
more than we expected--cozy, charming, comfortable, and with the constant roar of the
River, we were peaceful and content ALL the time. To sit on the screened porch, and
be close to the beauty of the River, and to just go out and be there, to sit under the
trees right at the edge----wonderful!! We would be happy in any of the cabins located
right on the River. Thank you for a very specail experience. We will see you next year!

cabin. It was wonderful again as we love being right next to the rushing, roaring
Big Thompson River which is the ultimate spot for total relaxation anywhere I have

"Our second stay at Idlewilde and enjoyed it every bit as much
as the first, probably even more because we brought our grandkids this time. We
stayed in 'Linger Longer'. It was perfect for our family, lots of room, and very
clean and comfortable. The cabins are modern enough to be convenient, but rustic
enough to enjoy the outdoor experience. We loved watching the hummingbirds, the elk
who passed through, and even caught a glimpse of a bear across the river. We love
RMNP, Estes Park and can't imagine staying anywhere else when we visit. Thank you

Park. On our last night we even saw a huge elk standing out in the front by the
office cabin. That same night we were out grilling and saw a cinnamin colored bear

do not show how spacious it is, very comfortable for the five of us. The screened
in porch, porch swing, the chairs and fire pit are all a bonus, not to mention the
hummingbirds and other wildlife. The sound of the Big Thompson is so soothing. Donna
and Lloyd excel in guest service. We can see why they have so many repeat guests.

"Our stay at Idlewide was more than we could have imagined.
The cabin was clean and cozy, the screened in porch was great, we enjoyed sitting
on the porch swing watching the hummingbirds and listening to the river right
behind our cabin. Lloyd and Donna make you feel like family and we really
appreciated the use of Donna's Safeway card so that we could save some money on
our groceries. We have already made reservations for next year and can't wait to
get back. "

amazing from the hummingbirds to the wild turkey that roamed the property. The river
was amazing as usual. The rushing sound was very soothing at night and envigorating
during the day. This was our second stay and definitely won't be our last. Great
location, great people, and wonderful accomodations! I look forward to a return
